Our Story
St. David’s began with families seeking to build a life together in postwar San Diego.
As veterans returned home, new neighborhoods took shape, and aerospace drew newcomers to the region, Episcopalians dreamed of a church community in Clairemont.
They first met in one another’s homes, then built a church on the hill in Bay Park.
Arson destroyed the church in 1991. The congregation chose reconciliation with the person responsible and rebuilt. The church on the hill today is a witness to faith, resilience, and hope.
Generations later, the story continues as people come here to worship, grow in faith, and share life.
our Mission
To follow Jesus, loving our neighbors as ourselves.
A Place for Community
Nestled on the top of the hill in Bay Park, across from Longfellow Spanish Immersion School and minutes from downtown, St. David’s welcomes people to worship, connect, and belong.
A Place to Gather
St. David’s hosts Sunday worship, concerts, and milestone gatherings, including weddings and memorial services. Our Community Mission Center offers three flexible spaces for meetings, meals, and celebrations.
Bay Park Academy Preschool fills the Education Center each weekday with children's energy, curiosity, and laughter.
Labyrinth
The labyrinth offers a quiet place for reflection, prayer, and renewal. Open to the public, its single path leads to the center and back — no wrong turns or dead ends — inviting walkers to quiet the mind, open the heart, and find peace.

Around the Grounds
Our Memorial Garden offers a peaceful place for remembrance, while Little Free Libraries invite neighbors to take or leave a book.
Each day brings children, neighbors, and people seeking community, recovery, or quiet.
Whatever brings people up the hill, St. David’s offers a place to reflect and simply be.
