Our Story
St. David’s began with families seeking to build a life together in postwar San Diego.
As veterans returned home, new neighborhoods took shape, and aerospace drew newcomers to the region, Episcopalians dreamed of a church community in Clairemont.
They first met in one another’s homes, then built a church on the hill in Bay Park.
Arson destroyed the church in 1991. The congregation chose reconciliation with the person responsible and rebuilt. The church on the hill today is a witness to faith, resilience, and hope.
Generations later, that spirit of faith, forgiveness, and hope continues. We gather to worship, learn, pray, celebrate, and care for one another.

A Place for Community
We share our buildings and grounds because we want St. David’s to be a place of welcome, connection, and renewal for our neighbors. On the hill in Bay Park, people come throughout the week to worship, learn, celebrate, find support, enjoy music, share meals, and spend quiet time in reflection.
A Place to Gather
Throughout the year, our church brings people together for Sunday worship, concerts, weddings, memorial services, and community gatherings. Nearby, the Community Mission Center offers three flexible spaces for dinners, receptions, meetings, classes, and celebrations. Groups can use the spaces separately or open them into one larger room for bigger gatherings.
Bay Park Academy Preschool fills the Education Center each weekday with children's energy, curiosity, and laughter.
Labyrinth
The labyrinth at St. David’s offers a quiet place for reflection, prayer, and renewal. Its single path leads to the center and back again—no wrong turns or dead ends.
The labyrinth is open to the public. Walk at your own pace. Come for quiet reflection, carry a question, or take time with grief or change. Whatever brings you here, the path offers space to quiet your mind, open your heart, and find a moment of peace.

Our Memorial Garden offers a peaceful place for remembrance, while Little Free Libraries invite neighbors to take or leave a book.
