FOYER_DINNER.jpg

We have had such success with the Foyer Dinners that the word has spread and many new people, as well as those in the Fall Dinner groups, are looking forward to getting together in a new group.

The Foyer Dinners are an opportunity to enjoy each other's company over a simple dinner or lunch. Each Foyer Group consists of three or four households who will gather in one another's homes or a location chosen by the group, for a meal and relaxed fellowship about once a month. For this series we will run between March and June.

Foyers offer a relaxed way to spend time with other members of the parish.
We will have sign-up sheets available on Sundays at church
or by request on the internet.

The deadline for signups is Sunday, February 18th.

For further information please contact Jamie Wood at jamiewood2@cox.net or either Anne Kellett or Jamie Wood at church.

Women's Fellowship

Women's Fellowship continues to gather, mostly on the last Friday of the month.  We meet in homes with a different hostess each month from 6:30 p.m. with no set stop time, though the majority of the women usually depart about 8:30 p.m. But if you can only come for a short time, you are welcome too. Our sole objective is to be together, to have a little time to connect outside the rush and hurry of Sunday morning, to share food and our lives. All are welcome.

Prayer Quilt Squares

PQS, as it is known, was started in June, 2004 to make 12-inch quilted blocks, or squares for our military troops in Iraq.  We now make squares for the parish in general.  Once the squares have been blessed, they are placed in a basket at the back of the church for anyone to take.  Each embroidery floss knot, which is the quilting, contains a prayer that was said as it was tied.

Although we do not have the means to make quilts, in some respects the squares are better.  A couple of times they have been allowed in surgery with the recipient where a quilt would not have been.

No prior sewing experience is necessary to join us as there are many little tasks to be done.  We meet in the Education Center from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 11:00 a.m. normally on the first Tuesday and the third Saturday of the month.

Flying Solos

The Flying Solos are a support group for widows and widowers. At this time there are 11 of us who meet on the 4th Thursday of each month. We have lunch together at different restaurants. We encourage anyone who would like to join us to call Marge Weston @ 858-274-4219 or Maureen Lewis @ 619-276-6698.

Men's Fellowship

The St. David's Men's fellowship group is a positive force within the St. David's Community. We currently meet on the third Saturday of the month for breakfast and fellowship in the Mission Center. We serve God and the church by setting up and tearing down chairs and tables for campus events. We also perform routine maintenance around the St. David’s Campus as needed. We work with the hospitality committee on several events including the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper.

Daughters of the King

The Daughters of the King is an order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church and have taken a vow for a life-long commitment of prayer, service, and evangelism dedicated to the spread of Christ’s Kingdom.

Please come to one of our meetings and share our experience of spiritual growth, learning, and fellowship. A meal is provided before we start our devotions, prayer, and study. Hope you will join us. We meet the first Monday night of each month at 5:45 in St. David's Mission Center.

Cursillo Communities

The San Diego Episcopal Cursillo community was founded to meet the growing spiritual needs of Episcopalians in San Diego County. It is part of a world-wide community which began with the Roman Catholic Cursillo movement. Its purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual callings to be Christian Leaders.
